World Vision Australia is part of an international partnership, which includes nearly 70 countries. For over 70 years, World Vision has worked alongside communities, partners and governments to help families transform their futures. We’re a Christian charity dedicated to helping vulnerable children lead full lives. As Australia’s largest international non-government organisation, our work reaches children no matter their background or the dangerous places they live in.

Helping one little girl with $5 in his pocket, Bob Pierce starts World Vision in the United States in the 1950s. In 1966, World Vision Australia launches as part of the World Vision Global Partnership. World Vision works with vulnerable communities at the grassroots level, empowering them with the knowledge, skills and resources to work their way out of poverty. World Vision brings globally proven approaches together with each community's own strengths to address their specific challenges. Our work includes long-term development programs, emergency relief projects, advocacy and education. The aim of many of our projects is to help communities become self-reliant through a range of initiatives such as health improvements, education and skills training, agricultural development, access to finance, small business workshops and leadership development.

World Vision is committed to the poor because we are Christian. We work with people of all cultures, faiths and genders to achieve transformation. We enact this through:

• Child Sponsorship - Working with communities to help children thrive through clean water, food, education and healthcare.
• First Nations Australians - Walking alongside First Nations communities in Australia for over 50 years. Our programs are all led by communities and help strengthen education, confidence and culture.
• Climate Change - Pioneer farmer-led method to regreen degraded landscapes on a global scale. Regenerating their land and empowering their communities.
