Glen Park Gospel Church >> Easter >> 2004 Good Friday in the Park
People came from far and wide, arriving mostly on time.
Until almost the last moment we were uncertain as to what music we would be able to offer, the Lord graciously answered our prayers and all things came together. Most people thought that this year's celebration of Good Friday was the best and most God honouring yet.
The weather was kind with light cloud tempering what would have been some sting from the autumn sun, some 115 people gathered in the park. Instrumental was by Kevin and Jenny Spicer on keyboard and saxophone, Ron Ellis and Dale Philip provided tenor and baritone solo and duet items and all were of outstanding quality and clarity. These folk were of the Diamond Valley Baptist music team.
Evangelist Bryan Greenwood brought the message answering the most asked question of those who see The Passion'; "Why did He do it?" At the conclusion two people asked for information about receiving Jesus Christ as their own Saviour.
The Service concluded on time with a hot-cross bun and a cuppa.
Good Friday in the Park has been an annual event for the last seven years, and for all but one of them, the sun has shined on this proclamation of the Gospel. At the Glen Park Gospel Church we see this as one of the ways that we are able to share the good news of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the blessing that can come into the lives of those who place their trust in Him.
